I warmly welcome you to SandCastles Ranch – a nonprofit educational project dedicated to teaching environmental stewardship through eco-friendly programs, practices, sustainable building, sustainable living and alternative housing.
SandCastles Ranch is a project of the WYDK TV and WYDK Global Network of Educational programs and events. It was first located and established in Tehachapi Ca in 1998 as part of Angelica's Garden Natural Health and living e-magazine. Overtime, our educational programs and eco-friendly projects have been spread beyond our geographical location. We have also collaborated/participated with many environmental/ social economic groups and organizations globally.
The Problem/Situation
Our modern societies, especially the western societies, have become so disconnected with nature, and the living earth in which we depend.
“People and businesses are overpowering the planet using resources faster than they can be regenerated.
“Unsustainable agriculture, fisheries, mining and energy are leading to unprecedented habitat loss and degradation, overexploitation, pollution and climate change.
“Biodiversity – the complex web of life made by millions of species, plants, bacteria and fungi – underpins many of Earth’s systems that we take for granted, systems that provide us with the air we breathe and the food and water we consume. It maintains the ecosystems that society and its various enterprises need to thrive, ensuring access to essential raw materials, commodities and services.”
And the bitter truth is that we have continued to do great damage to the planet and haven’t learnt how to grow our economy without harming nature.

What We Do
We Teach Sustainable Living
We use fun and creative ways to teach easy and effective ways to live Eco-Friendly and sustainably. We teach people and communities the importance of living in harmony with the earth and earth energy since we live and are sustained by a living earth.
We Teach Sustainable Building
We teach people easily sourced materials, and easily executed techniques that have been successfully used for alternative housing for centuries throughout the world.
Homelessness is the greatest and only true global pandemic!-AMF
According to global statics 2015 1.6 billion people globally lived in "inadequate shelter". That number only includes reported cases. Approximately 100,000 in the US and 380,000 of that total are under the age of 18. Due to the global Covid-19 pandemic those numbers are expected to rise by 30 million in the US. In the next three to 5yrs 3 billion people are projected/expected to be homeless.
We Teach Self-sufficiency
We teach people to take a much larger active role in their own personal circumstances by teaching them easy inexpensive ways to live more sustainably. We explore and advocate economic empowerment opportunities for our communities.
How We Do It
For close to 30 years now, we have been on the journey of raising empowered, environmentally conscious, self-sufficient citizens and communities through our eco-friendly and self-empowerment workshops, community events, public educational TV & Radio Programs, workshops and webinars.
We offer one-on-one private, group classes and virtual instruction as well as expert advice – both free and paid services. We have several Certified/Trained/ Experienced professionals to help you learn.
